100 years ago Brooks used the name Climax for their B-50 saddle and I found another ad from 1913 where another brand used this word as well. Brooks is thinking about brining this line back. They said it would improve my chances to be a “tester” of the new saddle if I offered my view. I did… but even if I’m not given a “Climax”… just thinking about it… I found uplifting.
My memory is clear on what movies I went to see and where. The internet told me what year. Then simple math told me how old I was. Now I have to put my life in the right order.
I tried to recall what I recall from 1960… the year this typewriter was made. Nothing much jumped out.
I cook some food… I type… it rains… but the day is nice.
Hostess is back on the shelf… and I had to eat some to see if they are as “sweet” as I remember?
received yesterday a LC Smith No. 3 that’s its owner (Joe) wanted to arrived safely to me… even if it cost more to ship than I paid (at his expense). The typewriter passed on to me… carried with it memories of people… kindness given and received. More than a machine… bought… a gift to treasure.
Fun to look at. Fun to use. Just great.
Some times… I read what I type and wonder how the words got on the page. Then I re-type and wonder what was I thinking. Then I type-over and like it enough to tear it into pieces. So I do what I should have done the first time… switch typewriters.
Sometimes the seller discribes the item correctly. The price seems low for what is shown. Then you get what you pay for. All the issues are non-issues and perhaps self-invented to explain away the “great deal”. Sometimes… a typewriter in great condition at a superlow price is just that. A typewriter in great condition at a super low price. And once adjusted the ribbon turned out to be in great shape (the only thing about the typewriter that turned out to be not as described).
