My typewriter matches this page (Black & White)…

I never thought a two tone black/white typewriter would look so beautiful.  This 1955 Underwood Quiet Tab Deluxe is ready for any party.  Formal tux, black tie affairs… Trips to the zoo to hang with Penguins or Zebras…. like to think it is the typewriter of choice for the men in black.

Being mature… does not mean not living!

When former President Bush celebrated his 90th birthday with a parachute jump I wondered how smart that was?  He can not walk but still likes jumping from planes.  Then it occurred to me that being “mature” does not mean “dead”.  Why not take “smart chances”… is it better to say “hey I’m 90 and in a wheel chair… better stop thinking about such things” or “why not!” At the end of the day you admire the man who decided to continue to dream such dreams and make them come true.

Somedays… you appreciate the internet.

I received a bargain book catalog in the mail… I decided to buy stuff like I did in the old days before the internet.  Bought a movie for $3.95… and if I had researched it online I would have known it wasn’t worth the $0.01 cent (plus $3.99 shipping it would have cost on Amazon).

70 years later…

1938 was the 75th anniversary of the  Gettysburg civil war battle, of the 8,000 living veterans approx. 1,800 made it to the reunion.  Average age 94.  In five years we will be 75 years from the D day landings.  Somehow I never thought events from World War II would ever become so far back in time and in my lifetime would come the day that no one from that war would still be living.  So I will simply say thank you to those still with us.  I will recall and bless those now gone.  And I will always honor those who stand for what they believe…
