Back to normal…

I like to think that things are returning to a new normal. Masking restrictions where I am are easing and people seem more relaxed and making travel plans. I want this to be true and to remain so as well. I’ve gotten back on my bike and feel more like my old self (I am 65 this year) which means I still think like I was 40.

Keep learning…

I am in year 3 of my return to league bowling. I have come full circle trying expensive balls, shoes and glows and now find success using a cheap plastic ball. Last week I bowled a 79 with the cheap ball… but instead of getting frustrated… I just adjusted. Then I bowled a 202 followed by a 199, still using the low end plastic ball. I learned to trust my self… I first bowled in the 1970’s… I just relaxed and bowled. I had learned something knew… trust one self… believe in your experience and skills… something I should have learned long ago but I just learned. Which goes to show what can happen if you keep learning and trying new things… even when its a old self.

Holding on to the good….

When life takes a turn toward the dark like it did in a church in South Carolina… my thoughts turned to the church and holding on to plow… When the way gets dark as night, I know the lord will be my light…  Fear of the future and all the terror in the world is never a reason to add more…

Fear is like a chain on a person’s soul… and the only chain that a man can stand is the chain of hand on hand…

In the face of evil I hold on to good…
