I added a fourth sheet of paper to my Remington Standard (Noiseless) and it turned the output from okay to great. Made my day. Until I noticed all the letters transposed… can’t have everything!
When the rubber meets the road… of something like that? At 300 miles the Brooks Cambium feels like it did at 12. Which is good and bad in its way. Right out of the box it felt like a leather brooks after several hundred miles; the leather gets better the more miles you put in. So far the Rubber stays the same.
Just a dab of paint and it improves the looks and the value of the machine seems to grow and its use more joy.
For less than three bucks you expect issues… this Remington Rand Model 17 defines the word “Well used” but in its own way it is still a working typewriter.
I want to not feel bad if I can’t meet my goals. I’m just not there yet. I guess I just set my goals to low; since I can meet them if I try hard enough. Perhaps if I had unrealistic expectations then it would not matter if I reach them. One day I will be mature enough to look at things that way… just not there yet.
Just out and about in the sun on a bike at a typewriter….
Things change… repurposed with Polish keys… repainted … creating words that are nice.
I came across this about the time Mickey Rooney died… (hard to believe his estate was worth $18,000.00) so in sort of a tribute I call this typewriter Mickey. It’s small but don’t let that fool you it can do a lot.
Just passing time on a One Hundred And Eleven year old typewriter… leaves one feeling mellow and at peace.
Takes awhile for me to start enjoying my bike rides. Now that I’ve reached 250 miles for the year… I feel better and the rides are better as well.
