So far so good… 8 months with a 1923 Underwood 3-Bank

Wow… 8 months I’ve had this 3-Bank.  At first I loved the action but it keep skipping and the space bar did not always advance.  I bought a “donor” and now it works great.  So good infact I got distracted and performed poorly as a typist… I kept expecting it to mess up and stop working… but it did not.  Happy… Happy… Joy… Joy!!!

Not a shark at heart…

Sometimes I will just walk away from an auction.  The typewriter is good… the price is low  but when I check out the other bidders and if they have less than 5 byes on E-bay I will not compete… (not until someone with double digit plus byes enters the picture) then I will re-enter.  Dumb?  Maybe… but I have enough machines to not want to get in the way of someone about to enjoy the world of typewriters.

I have an Ideal (1909)

I wasn’t even looking for this typewriter.  I was searching for information on Olympia Model 8 and came across this.  The pictures looked old… beat up… but I email about the spacer working… it did.  It does.  I never expected it to be working this well fresh off the delivery truck after a month in transit.  Carpenter’s pencil for a space bar… plastic spool as a second spool… it works it spins… it types… the keys are so clean… with a little effort this will be my prize.  Joy of Joys.

I was going to wait until I had worked on this… but it worked so well I could not wait to show it off.
