A lucky day… when a Corona 3 came my way.

When I saw a cheap yellow Corona 3… I bought it.  The yellow came off and the machine itself works perfect.  I feel so lucky every day I look at it and my spirit lifts when I touch its keys.  It was a lucky day indeed when this Corona 3 came my way.

My most viewed posts…

I visited my stats page and find I have two posts with over 100 views.  12 12 12 (109 views)  and 3 Centuries of Type with (103) and coming in third with the best title so far: “The Empire Types Back” with 96 views.  I was going to turn the green type another color but stayed with it after all.

Each day of type… is a different typing day.

No two days behind the keyboard feels the same.  No groundhog day effect for me.  Of course I have lots of typewriters.  Still when I return to a machine things change.  The keys may be less stiff.  The carriage return may flow smoother.  Or things that once worked great will now skip and stick and groan.  Perhaps this is why they appeal to me… each day is a new experience.

1959 Pacemaker gets a fresher look…

Just starting to clean the gook off the Smith-Corona.  I’m beginning to suspect that this is nicotine and tars left over from a heavy smoking environment.  What I thought was light rust turned out to be a stain. Lot of effort to go… but it is starting to look decent.

1966 – 2013… the world has improved in many ways…

The world is kinder in many ways than it was 50 years ago.  As much as fear… and random evil is everywhere.  The ability to see beyond appearance has allowed many to have opportunity and has expanded the quality of life for me.  It is a …wonderful world…

What if… I smile tomorrow?

It’s fun to just put aside time each day to type… to think out loud and let the words flow and thoughts grow as they wish.  So… I think I might smile in the morning and see if the day is different than just getting up and letting the world set its on pace.  I will control my destiny and be upbeat if I want to… which reminds me of something a English teacher once said about me: “I can see you standing in front of a tree… saying: “Grow!”  I took this in stride… people talk to plants all the time.
