After typing 50 letters using my typewriters… my fingers seek out the Underwood’s. Not that other machines don’t do a great job… the touch wants what the touch want!
1962 Royal Futura 800 is a true “workhorse”
After typing 5 letters in a row with my 1956 Remington Travel-Riter, the ribbon started to snag… I switched to my 1962 Royal Futura and it’s able to handle a dozen pages in a row without issue… keeps asking for more paper!

With a serial number 9950063 it came at the end of the model year. In 1968 Laugh-In was on TV. 2001 a Space Odyssey was at the show. Apple records was started and Yale started to admit women.
PS: This is a 49 year old typewriter, not 39. I must not like thinking about the years adding up the way they do. I was 12 in 1968, adding 49 years… makes me 39…

When a typewriter reaches 100 plus years… the fact that it was a barebones (cheap) typewriter from day one. You must give it credit for a job well done. Types well… even if the feel is low end.
