Built to type… 1908 L.C. Smith Bros No. 2
This typewriter does the job. Not fancy to look at. Just built to get it done… and it does… 105 years later (even though I kept typing 108). Serial #51,142
The 1963 Olympia SM7 mistake… but worth keeping
While I have some great finds… I’ve also made some mistakes that only “rookies” make. This was one. Just because someone says the font is “script” don’t make it so. Just take a close look at the keys… no ribbon needed. So After months on a shelf… I admit my error and type with pleasure. (But I do Blame the 1961 SM7 for all this).
The Gabriele 35… might not be the type I’m looking for…
It types… it works… but perhaps just not my type.
Ode to the Everest… a typewriter with Character… beauty beneath the keys…
Why type with a Everest? Because I can. Why own an Everest… because it was there. You just have to see’s its inner cuteness…
1960 Erika… 10 on looks… 4 on performance.
It looks nice… oh so pretty… but it may take a while for me to warm up to machine.
The 54 Studio 44… gets a workout….
One day of rest and things began to stick… so out on the desk and insert a page and type… type… type and the more I typed the better the flow. This 59 year old will work itself back into trim in no time at all.

The blog comes from Chicago (where I grew-up) so perhaps there is a connection (but that would depend on the answer to the following questions? Ton S: 1) Cubs or Sox? 2) Who played Oliver O. Oliver on Bozo Circus? 3) Paddle-foot was a character on what cartoon? And last and not least: Name the “King of the United States”
Any one of a certain age will know these answers without a thought. “Lets play two”… If you you can’t answer you are younger than I am and if you call the Cubs… Cubbies… then much younger.

Based on the serial number I say this is from 1967 (it would have been nice if it were 1965. Then it would five for five from 65. Shopgoodwill does it again. I give to charity and charity gives me a great toy to play with.
