With a thrust… The Empire 1907 Typewriter

There are more than one way to contact the platen…. “The Empire” uses a thrust (push) motion to make contact with the platen.  Odd… but well made.  Not the fastest machine out there but quiet.  Made in Canada… and great to use and just to look at.

Acts Not Words… Part II

Images are stored in different places than documents.  It is easier to get pictures of the 91st Engineers in World War II… than it is to obtain words regarding what they were doing.

I thought I had lost the “official picture” of when the Presidential Unit Citation was awarded (a year plus after the fact and long after most had moved on to other places).  But my scanner stopped scanning and while I was waiting for my computer to complete a check on why the scanner was not working… I found the picture.

Some things were just meant to be…

Thinking and being inspired by history while typing on a l956 Underwood.

A new look for Type Oh!

I thought I would add some images to my website… the first is me way back when next to a Underwood that entered this world the same year as I did in 1956.

My 1928 Royal 10  that arrived by mistake (I had ordered a Royal 5) … decided to keep it.

My Corona 3 that came to me painted yellow… but by dumb luck the paint was easy to remove… to reveal its true colors and worth.

A 1960 RC Allen that types in script… one of these geewiz wonders that cost more to ship than purchase and worth it.

Last of all me on my first bike.

Just me and some of my typewriters.
