Common cents = common sense
Heard that the state of Missouri will reduce its minimum wage…. I recall the day (my first job) when I received a raise to $1.00 an hour. Of course gas cost me .25 a gallon. If I continued at $1.00 an hour in 2017… I would have to work three 8 hour days to fill up my car!
Getting there… bicycle riding
Reached 826 training miles this year… (811 when I typed post). The only thing I am sure about is if you keep pedaling… you move forward; which is much better than going backward or staying in place.
Getting the words out…
Sometimes you just need to let the words out. Not because they have great meaning or worth… just to let them fly or fall in the air of self-expression.

I set down to type my 911 post. When news events and the post number struck me. Then I went ahead and looked for grace…
Looking forward…
The best way to face fear… is to admit you have them. Its like going Lions, Tigers & Bears… (oh my) and you run into a cowardly lion. Which would not have happened if Dorothy had stayed out of the forest!
I looked back on my records and discovered that in November 2012 I paid $4.99 for this typewriter. Which still puts a grin on my face… near mint condition.

Before the before…
There are questions you have… but not the ability on how to ask it and make sense. I always knew memorial day was about veterans… I was never sure about why our family went to the cemetery on Memorial Day when a veteran was not involved. Then one day I learned that before Memorial Day, in the south there was Decoration Day and before the Civil War this day was about honoring the family and not just veterans. I did not know how to ask about the before the before…
Since memorial day is linked in my mind to my oldest brother, I link all veterans with my memories of someone I never knew but love and respect always and forever.
Change has changed…
Communication has speeded up but is that as much a change as moving from word of mouth to print? From horse to horseless? From showing respect to demanding it? Are questions the prelude to change or just wanderings allowing things to stay the same?
Modest means… means what?
What is the meaning when you say you are of modest means? A car, a home? Take the bus and rent an apartment? Could afford college… night school?
