My Underwood has its Western Union serial number WU5739R and I checked the number under the foot is 205320. I guessed 1909 based on design, but the serial number places it at 1908. For me 1908 is a great year for an Underwood.
A low key day on an all cap typewriter
As the saying goes, spring is right around the corner. Then we get the too hot weather of summer.
Great looking typewriter. I love the plain and clear typeface. Closest I have to a Mill is my Royal Signet. It has no shift key, but that does not prevent me from trying to shift at the start of a sentence.
That Underwood is so pretty, and the typing looks great, just like you’re sending us a telegram.
