Each day of type… is a different typing day.

No two days behind the keyboard feels the same.  No groundhog day effect for me.  Of course I have lots of typewriters.  Still when I return to a machine things change.  The keys may be less stiff.  The carriage return may flow smoother.  Or things that once worked great will now skip and stick and groan.  Perhaps this is why they appeal to me… each day is a new experience.

Thoughts after 17,817 miles of bicycle riding

I glanced at my bicycle log… my goal is 1,000 miles a year.  2014 will mark my 20th year of regular bicycle riding.  As of today my 19 year average is 937 miles per year… which at the end of this year will move up to 990 if I match last years distance (1,900 miles).  Deep down I am proud of the fact that for almost 20 years I have gone out and put in the effort to be a fitter, healthier person.

Type Oh Bells… the sounds my typewriters make.

I thought of calling this “For whom the bell tolls…” but I believe it’s been over used.   Type Oh bells… comes with its own slogan: “The place for fast food thoughts”

Or … ” The typewriter always rings twice…”

Before the blog… I typed letters.

This time one year ago I owned just two typewriters and was typing letters to friends.  Little did I know…

Although my first letters were typed on either a 1960’s Olympia or a 1925 Underwood… I recreate parts of my letters on a 1956 Underwood that was next in line for use.

Typed on a 1956 Underwood... that I never expected to buy.

The typewriter forgets who lifts the heavy load and presses the keys and thinks of what to say… with out me… you are just a display… so thought Gee.

But what are thoughts… and muscles… without a muse to inspire and to work with as a team… thinks Gee of his Underwood…
