1927 Smith Premier 30 (Monarch Design) with twist-tie fix
Once I tied down the space-bar with a twist tie this (sold for parts) machine began to play.

Just shows how things change for the better. Still great to look at and to use.

Brought out my problem children for some fun in the sun. They type so they work. One day I will get them working well… for now its just fun to press their keys.
SP10 Second View
Found another rod out of its socket… now the backspace works (and the space bar is slightly less responsive). Pulled about two inches of dirt/dust/hair balls out from between the various springs. So the next time I use this machine it may work better. I hope so.
Smith Premier 10 (1910)… looked liked scrap… but it works.
When I saw the pictures I thought it was something to use for parts.  It was priced as such.  But it works…
