The problem with logic…

My problem is that I keep following the logic of the words being used today…. this leads me to roads that seem full of distrust, division and hurt. My mind wants a path to communication, trust, uplift and hope. Yet when I think about what my thoughts say… it seems I am not just making an observation, but perhaps pulling back the curtain words hide. Or… I am just putting words on paper to see what prints!!

  1. I can’t fault “logic” for these problems. Logic is pretty rigorous and neutral. What you describe, and very well, I would attribute to psychology and morality. I find far too much unjustified accusation against intellectual techniques, often based on a lazy or cynical misunderstanding of those ideas. If logic does not condemn the ills you describe, that is because logic is neutral. I am surprised that Richard, as a philosopher, does not mention this. All that said, I am very much in sympathy with your views. Thanks.
