I recently spent some time talking to a computer voice to obtain information… based on its response and what I see on the news the AI (artificial intelligence) of computers is almost equal to interactions between our elected leaders.
Meaning that I get responses that are pre-determined and not subject to change based on any answer or question given…

The pre-programed responses on the computer won’t change while the response from a certain person in government will change to support his whims. After all “Mexico will pay for the wall”.
At this point… pointing out the obvious only prolongs a dispute and does not end it.
It drives me nuts to have to talk to a computer on the phone, especially when the recorded answers are phony imitations of human talk, such as, “Hold on a second while I work on that for you,” or “I didn’t catch that.”
I was tempted to type: “hold on a second while…” there is a tax program that will ask you to wait just a moment, then explains that it is taking more than a moment. This happens every time you start and was okay the first time… I wonder if instead it just said: “this will take as long as it takes…” I doubt if I would feel better but it would be more honest.
