I bought one for five bucks at the Veterans Thrift store near the house.I was shocked at what great condition it was in.Only no spools so it has been gathering dust for a month or so. I took a second look at it tonight and for some weird reason the spools were jammed inside. It took a fair while to get them disengaged and then threaded but now she’s right as rain. Now Ijust need to practice.I am 55 so better get cracking…..
I just found a similar Smith-Corona (a Classic 12) at the thrift store today for $5. At last! The first manual typewriter I’ve found at St. Vinnie’s for eons.
Very satisfying, clear output from that Galaxie. You’re off to a good start. We’ll be watching…
