Starting to settle down from the recent election. Reading conservative and liberal media comments has resulted in a large consumption of aspirin. I read about the same event… and come away believing two different events occurred.
At least my 105 year old Remington types the same words… all the time.

All reporting is necessarily selective, but we should certainly try to be aware of what is being left out. Then there’s the problem of out-and-out lies or “fake news.”
I use to think I would always be able to tell what was fact and what is fiction. Now I discover that I need to check and re-check to be sure. Then I re-read to see if my understanding was off… due to selective reading. I sometimes find I read the parts I agree with and skip over the parts I do not.
