Was reading that back in 1978 Deforest Kelley was making $50,000.00 a year attending Star Trek conventions; which in todays money would be $181,000.00. Which would make my comment another day another dollar… another day another 3.60 or thereabouts…. (I rounded up to ten). Not that it matters it was still $50,000.00 at the time. In fifty years someone might be saying GEE made $1,000,000.00 a year corrected for inflation (and I will find it funny because it didn’t seem like that much).

Every day is January 1. One of the stickers on my computer monitor: “What is to be is up to me”. Lovely typewriter. I have a No. 5 and a No. 4, and love their look of exposed mechanical precision and complexity. I can think of nothing else I have other than my typewriters that consist of such hand-made wonderfulness. Yes, I too collect old metal. While individually some of the acquisitions have been mistakes (and, boy, have I learned from them!) overall this decision has been a good one, leading to the pleasures of companionship, tinkering, and writing.

Great words and thoughts.
