By the way, my bike, which I bought used in Chicago in 1985, is a Claridge Sprint. Ever heard of one? I got curious recently, searched online, and Claridges seem to be very obscure. Possibly Chinese, no one is sure.

Sorry to say I have not come across that name (Claridge before) I did some searching and came across the same information you mentioned. Chinese… most likely a re-brand for a store.
