I too have the Model 17, and I like it alot. It has a nice art deco look to it.
What a difference a coat of paint makes – very cool.
P.S. I got my Demountable apart and cleaned up, although it was quite nice and clean to begin with. I love the way it types – quick and snappy, with a nice clicky typewriter sound!
I expected an average machine, but it’s now now of my best typers! Tune yours up and see what you think!?

I had to take my Demountable off the shelf. Mine has the makings of a great typewriter… but I will have to search for some parts to get it right.
