Value is timeless…. worth is something else.

Man pays $25.00 for two paintings in 1975… son finds out in 2014 they are worth $50,000,000.00.Β  Does the worth change its value? The paintings remain the same regardless.

  1. Did you write about a typewriter? I can only remember the rantastic rate of return on the $25.00 investment!

You are correct that I did not write about a typewriter… Sometimes I forget that I am using something a century old and it becomes only a tool for communication… and I just type my thoughts and the fact that I was using a Royal 5 faded into the background. Which is the best thing you can say about something made 101 years ago… works so well it required no special treatment… just press keys and type.

  3. Either way, you can’t take it with you. Would be nice to have the money while still around though. I bought a $10 painting from an Anglicare Op Shop just because I liked it. Who knows…. ?
