  1. Speaking of yellow typing paper, I wonder if there is any specific reason many writers favor yellow? I’m basing this on a famous interview with Truman Capote in The Paris review, and I recall that William Zinsser said he typed on yellow copy paper. Does it distinguish drafts from final copies? Is the contrast ratio easier on the eyes? Wondering why yellow.

    I have heard that as well. I can not give an easy answer. When I use a note pad and write with pen and ink it is on yellow paper. Sticker’s to place in books for tabs are often yellow as well. Perhaps it has to do with remembering… or brainstorming.
