  1. Lovely post. I, too, recall all too many items that are no longer around. I do frequently rejoice, though, that I have retained my 1957 SM3, my high school typer that several times was in the accumulation of donation items, but pulled out at the last moment for the sake of the memories of pleasure and pain it held. The pleasure of creating a nice – looking document;the pain of the last-minute struggles with assignments.

    1. My high-school typewriter was a 1940’s Underwood Standard. When word-processors became the thing. I stopped using it and soon it was out in the elements and in a very short time became a rusted hulk. At the time I did not think… Typewriters were not cool and lacked spell check. I was not wise back then.
