1946 Imperial 50 from novelty item to working typing wonder.
Perspective is everything. Bought by one as a novelty and by another as tool for creative inspiration. One kept it pristine another puts it back to work. Win! Win!

Proportion is everything too – a big butch typewriter like that needs a big bell! I like to too.
Have you tried taking it apart yet? Press the two push buttons beneath the platen to simply lift it off. Type basket? Just depress the two odd looking levers on the face plate and pull. Have fun!

The typewriter fits its name “Imperial”
A fabulous bell. Good looking typewriter altogether. I don’t have one of these and am curious!

I was going to put it away for awhile… but now I want to use right away. I’m curious as well.

Thanks for reading and your comments. The Imperial 50 is very rare in the U.S. I was lucky to find one and in such good shape.
