Very good attitude to the curveballs that life sometimes throws our way. Very good score on a very nice typewriter! Best of luck with the house repairs. I’m in the same boat with numerous external renovations to be tackled in the coming weeks/months.
Tony:
Over the past 18 months I am starting to discover knowledge that I was not aware I had gained by collecting and using typewriters. Several weeks ago I had a Underwood Quiet Delux that did not function and as I looked it over… out of the blue I noticed a rod had slipped out of its socket… once back where it belonged the Underwood function perfectly. The Torpedo looked flawless… so I keep looking and looking then I saw this piece of metal that looked like a lever only it was pressed against the botton of the carriage which just looked wrong. Its shape and location just looked like it would function like a lock… turned out I was right. One of the side benefits is that I can see the improvement in my knowledge regarding typewriters and how they work in this short bit of time and where before I would have been frustrated I am now feeling both relief… grateful… and happy to have a wonderful working machine.
Sweet typewriter!

Good job with the Super Glue and “reforming” the bent metal bits. And it looks like it types well – nice work with the find and tune up.
Richard:
As alway’s appreciate your input.
Teeritz:
It is a very nice typewriter. I hope my attitude stays “mellow” as time moves on. I will keep my fingers crossed.
