I bought my boy a shiny new Trek mountain bike a couple of years ago as he was growing out of (and I was getting tired of fixing) a 1980s Raleigh Bomber – a cruiser style bike. To this day, he hasn’t ridden more than 20 miles on the Trek but his Bomber takes him everywhere, school, footpaths, pals in nearby villages. Crazy, but at least he has style – as long as I keep fixing it when it breaks 🙂
