1916 Remington Smith Premier 10A… old style keyboard
Just shows how things change for the better. Still great to look at and to use.

It makes them look like a cash register – seems like a lot of reaching for the fingers to do! An 1897 Smith Premier was posted on the TWDB (Mark Petersen) looks a bit different but has the same shift-less set of keys.
AH! I am still getting my beastie back into working order. It isn;t far from working but it sadly needs a lot of love and attention. Thanks for writing with this. I bet if feels strange writing with it!

I thought the same… it does remind one of a cash register.

I can see the keys… its obvious… but my muscle memory wants to work its own way and does not care what my brain wishes.
The decals and paintwork look pretty good for its age and it is great, like you say, that 97 years on it can still crank out some copy.

Had to do a little touch up on the paint… but the decals are as found.
