The 1963 Olympia SM7 mistake… but worth keeping
While I have some great finds… I’ve also made some mistakes that only “rookies” make. This was one. Just because someone says the font is “script” don’t make it so. Just take a close look at the keys… no ribbon needed. So After months on a shelf… I admit my error and type with pleasure. (But I do Blame the 1961 SM7 for all this).

Some times… I read what I type and wonder how the words got on the page. Then I re-type and wonder what was I thinking. Then I type-over and like it enough to tear it into pieces. So I do what I should have done the first time… switch typewriters.
With a typewriter… the digital world is more accessable.
Odd but in many ways the typewriter has expanded my entry into the digital world. Websites… blogs… translation… scanners… Photoshop… badges… widgets… themes… links and more.

Glad to be back playing with words… I have always thought that the bicycle ride across Iowa was my reward for getting in shape. So… I’m thinking weight loss my be a new twist on getting into shape. (Weight before this years ride 230… current weight 223).

Olympia SG-1 Completes my Magnificent 7
1962 Olympia SG-1… $14.95
Although the manual is for a SG-1N… with expedient touch marks for the blind… . I had to close my eyes to notice that the Q, Z and opposite end keys have a rough surface… (I guess for correct starting position)… and slight bumps next to the ribbon control and touch adjuster.
After the 4th…
Just because the 4th of July is over… I do not stop celebrating the country I love. Pride of country stays in my heart 365 days a year. Love of our land still glows in my heart long after fireworks end.
In Iowa… the Next Florida.
The bicycle ride across Iowa (RAGBRAI) ends in the Town of Ft. Madison (11,000). Each year towns go all out to support this ride. 41 years of rides and counting… it ends this year in the self-proclaimed Florida of Iowa.  Iowa which brought us “The Music Man” (…trouble right here in River City….) Where (if you build it… they will come) all started. And the one I like most of all (is this heaven? No… its Iowa). A place of open hearts… friendly folks… great food and lots of corn… hogs and farm land. A mirror of America at its best (from the perspective of a bicycle seat). http://www.fortmadisonragbrai.com
