  1. Congratulations on the boots. If you’re planning to backpack down the canyon add a backpack with weights to your walks. Another advantage is if you live in the mountains. Downhill is always worse than up hill. I’m guessing down into the canyon will be long and tiring. I grew up in mountains and never had problems in the Rockies. I never hiked the Grand Canyon though.
